About

My name is Tyler Wilson and I am a sophomore from Palos Verdes, California
I currently train with Bridgeport Farms and I show two incredible horses: En Plus du Givre (“Enzo”), my hunter, and Catch It (“Churro”), my equitation horse. Enzo and I compete in the 3’3" junior hunters, while Churro is my partner in the 3’3”–3’6” equitation medals. Both horses have played an important role in my development, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities they have provided.
Over the past two years, I have earned strong results in highly competitive hunter and equitation divisions at the national level. Highlights include placing 21st overall at the NHS Hamel Medal Final my first time attending, 6th at the USHJA Jump Seat Finals West, and finishing in the top 12 at the USHJA Hunt Seat Finals West. I also placed 4th in the CPHA Foundation Medal Final, 6th in the CPHA Style of Riding Final out of 69 riders, and 7th in the PCHA Medal Final (14 & Under). In the hunter ring, Enzo and I were the winners of the $10,000 Pennsylvania National Children’s Hunter Final with a score of 90 and earned Reserve Champion at the Capital Challenge WCHR Children’s Hunter Challenge.
Beyond the show ring, I pride myself on being hardworking, positive, and a strong team player. Sportsmanship is extremely important to me, and I make a conscious effort to encourage others and bring a positive attitude to every environment. At the barn, I have taken on leadership roles by helping younger riders, working pony camps since 2019, packing tack trunks for shows, and stepping in wherever help is needed. While our barn does have grooms, I consistently take initiative with daily care responsibilities, including cleaning tack and putting my horses away.
Outside of riding, I am the co-founder and president of the Glow and Grow Club, a student self-improvement club, at my high school, an active member of French Club, and a volunteer with the nonprofit Las Niñas. Through these roles, I have developed a strong sense of leadership, responsibility, and commitment to supporting my community.
I also have two years of experience playing both club and high school volleyball, which strengthened my teamwork, adaptability, and ability to take instruction under pressure. These skills directly translate to my riding, where I am always focused on learning, adjusting, and improving. Academically, I maintain a 4.3 weighted GPA and have a strong interest in pursuing forensic psychology or a film production field in college.
When it comes to competition pressure, I manage nerves by staying present and focused on my ride rather than comparing myself to others. If something doesn’t go as planned, I regroup quickly, reset mentally, and return to the ring with confidence.
Looking ahead, my goal is to combine my academic ambitions with my passion for riding while continuing to grow as both an athlete and a teammate. Riding in college has always been a dream of mine, and I am excited by the opportunity to represent a program with dedication, positivity, and a strong work ethic while contributing meaningfully to a competitive team environment.
